Our experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

In recent years, 24/7 Event Crew have been working on some larger projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia alongside various crew suppliers. During that time, we have developed a working partnership with these companies to provide a comprehensive production and site crew service throughout the Kingdom for live events, film and sport backed up by our own UK crew management team.

With shows and events throughout the Kingdom growing in size and content the need for experience crews is growing. With that in mind, 24/7 Event Crew will be opening up an office and training school in Riyadh in the summer of 2023 with the commitment to train and mentor our own event crew to enable us to provide skilled and semi-skilled manpower for a wide variety of events, all managed by our experienced English speaking crew chiefs and team leaders.

We have already supplied crew on some of the largest and prestigious productions in the KSA, the largest of course being MDL Beast’s Soundstorm event (see news). We have also worked on Formula E and Formula 1 fan zone stages and WWE shows in both Riyadh and Jeddah.

SOUNDSTORM 2024 – Riyadh

This year’s Soundstorm festival was a massive success, attracting over half a million attendees who revealed in three days of electrifying music and mesmerizing visuals. The main stage, an astonishing 301 meters wide, hosted a capacity of around 140,000 festival-goers and nearly sold out over the course of the event.

The highlight of the festival was undoubtedly the “Big Beast” stage, now boasting a capacity of 65,000 and earning the world record for the largest outdoor stage. With 10-12 pyro flames per wing and an award-winning temporary video wall, the Big Beast stage truly lived up to its name.

24/7 played a crucial role in the production of Soundstorm 2024. This year, our team was brought in as specialists to assist with building risers, preparing sets for the Big Beast stage, and running the show call throughout the weekend. Collaborating with Showforce, we ensured the smooth running of the event, contributing to its overall success.

The sheer scale of the festival was evident in the logistics: the mainstage required 700 tons of equipment, transported in 67 x 40ft containers, each weighing 10 tons. Additionally, there were nine air freight deliveries, totalling 18 tons, including 7 tons of cameras.

Soundstorm 2024 was a testament to the power of teamwork and innovation, showcasing the best in electronic dance music and creating unforgettable experiences for all who attended.

Formula 1 & Formula E 2024

Two of racing’s most iconic events, the Formula 1 and e-Prix Diriyah, showcased not only the pinnacle of motorsport but also a commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Formula 1, the epitome of motorsport, brings together the world’s best drivers, teams, and cutting-edge technology, creating an electrifying atmosphere that captivates millions of fans globally. The high-speed drama, precision engineering, and intense competition make it a truly spectacular event. Our team had the privilege to be part of this grand occasion, ensuring the seamless execution of the after-show festivities.

The e-Prix Diriyah, a highlight on the Formula E calendar, transforms the historic streets of Diriyah into a high-speed, electric-powered spectacle. Formula E, renowned for its sustainable approach and pioneering electric vehicle technology, captivates audiences worldwide with its street circuit races, attracting top drivers and teams to city streets globally.

Our company was honored to play a crucial role in these prestigious events. Over the course of three weeks, we provided experienced crew chiefs from the UK to collaborate with local teams in Saudi Arabia. For the Formula 1 event, the combined efforts of our UK team and local crew accumulated an impressive number of hours. Similarly, the Formula E project encompassed approximately 1500 hours of meticulous work.

We not only built the stage but also imparted our knowledge to local crews, fostering a spirit of collaboration and learning. This project encompassed approximately 1000 hours of meticulous work, and our team thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

Crown Jewel Wrestling

Crown Jewel 2022 was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). It took place on October 2021, at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Crown Jewel 2021 was the fourth edition of the event, which has been held annually in Saudi Arabia since 2018. It featured some of WWE’s biggest stars and was broadcast live on pay-per-view around the world.

This is one of our crew favorite events over in Saudi, as we’ve done our fair share of wrestling rings back in the UK. We sent a small, multi-skilled team to aid Showstars on this build. They worked nearly 1000 hours on this, but it didn’t feel like it as they enjoyed it so much.
